Facts about Gypsy

  • Breed: Pit Bull Terrier Mix
  • Color: Brindle - With White
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Female
Gypsy is a 4 year old Pit mix who was pulled from Pima Animal Care Center when it was suspected she had neurological issues. Unable to properly diagnosis and treat these issues, the shelter reached out to the rescue community. After a CT scan and other tests, it was determined that Gypsy did NOT have neurological issues, she was suffering from untreated Valley Fever causing neurological "like" symptoms. Gypsy is a petite little girl, weighing in at about 50lbs. She loves to cuddle, no seriously, LOVES IT! She also likes chasing those pesky lizards out of the yard, rolling around in a soft, fluffy beds, and playing with squeaky toys. Gypsy is dog social, but does require an introduction. She currently lives with a like sized female and a much larger male. She does well with both. Since Gypsy is still working on getting her "footing" she would do best with a family that's more low key. She won't be hiking Mount Lemon anytime soon, but she does enjoy a leisurely walk. She is currently on Fluconazole twice daily and this will likely be lifelong; however, she takes her meds like a champ with a sliver of cheese please!

About RAD Rescue Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

RAD is a volunteer based non-profit organization that is deeply committed to saving, healing and finding forever homes for the most challenged pooches who would otherwise be swallowed up in the shelter environment. We work primarily with senior dogs, with dogs suffering from severe medical or behavioral issues, and with dogs requiring hospice care.

Our dogs go into the warm environment of foster homes until they find their forever homes, and we provide them with support, medical care, and training.

We advocate for spay and neuter, vaccination & microchip education to prevent the overpopulation of dogs in Arizona shelters.
