Hiyeee! It's me, Esperanza! My foster parents call me Espe (Es-pee) for short. I've been with my foster parents for a while now, so they know lots about me!
When I was only 8 weeks old, I was found sick with Parvo and had five broken bones in my back legs. They tell me that I was dropped from a balcony or possibly hit by a car and was left to die. K-9 Angels Rescue saved me and took me into their program even though no one knew whether or not I would make it. They took me to a orthopedic surgeon who fixed my broken bones so that I could learn to walk again. I recovered in my foster home for several weeks while my bones healed. Look at me now! Foster mom says that I have scars, but you'd never be able to tell that I had such a rough past. I have the sweetest personality and just want to love you. I love to snuggle and be close.
I love to play with my foster siblings. Sometimes they are grumpy, so I know to stay out of their way. We love to fetch toys in the yard and go on long walks. I love to play with other dogs too, but may be a little scared at first. One of my favorite things to do is hold foster mom's hand. When she holds it out, I put my paw in hers.
Mom says I am such a good girl. I am doing so well with my potty training and know to go to the bathroom outside. As long as you take me out every few hours, I never have accidents inside.
I stay in my crate during the day when my parents aren't home. I cry a little because I'm sad that they're leaving, but I settle down very soon after. I have no problem entertaining myself with toys or just taking a nap. Sometimes loud noises scare me and I will bark, but it's just because I am alert and want to make sure you are safe.
I would love to meet you! Don't wait, put in an application for me today!
Esperanza is a Female Pit Bull Mix that we estimate to be born around June 16, 2016.
PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.
OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. However, we only adopt young puppies locally, due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered.
SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one’s pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready.
NOTE: All dogs are officially the property of K-9 Angels Rescue until they are altered by our veterinarian.
