Meet Hamish! He is 4 years old and neutered. His family was unable to care for him. Hamish excels at lying around and would love to have someone around most of the time. He’s a little anxious about being left alone. Hamish would probably be okay with one other dog--particularly if that dog is not big on playing. Hamish gets a little lap jealous (i.e., if he is being petted and another dog comes up, he will let the newcomer know he doesn’t want to share). He is fed raw food for his allergies and will need someone willing to keep him on a raw diet. Hamish is still new, so please check back for updates.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hamish, a Chicago English Bulldog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a English Bulldog for sale in Chicago, or seeking a English Bulldog dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even English Bulldog breeders who help with English Bulldog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
