Facts about Chaka

  • Breed: Labrador Retriever Mix
  • Color: Black
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
Meet Chaka! She is a beautiful 2-3yo lab mix who was surrendered along with her two doggie housemates when her owner moved out of state. She had two doggie friends in her previous home- one male, one female... both whom she got along well with, but they were recently adopted from the shelter.

Chaka came to Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue after being very stressed at the shelter once her friends were adopted... we are hopeful that she will come to feel secure and happy again with the awesome AAHA volunteers, some new doggie friends, and with a new family soon!

Per reports from the shelter volunteers..."Chaka is completely house broken. She will start to bark when she needs to go outside. She loves the water and kiddie pool and loves to play ball!"

She will do best in a home with adults and older children, and other pets... She just misses being part of a family!

About Adopt a Homeless Animal

About Our Rescue Group...

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Please help us help the animals!

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are a rescue that is dependent on volunteers as we do not have a physical building. Thus, our dogs are in foster homes, so if you would like to meet one of our dogs please contact us to make arrangements. Thanks!

Our Adoption Process...

An approved application, vet reference, personal reference check and home visit are required to finalize an adoption. Also, there is a $175 adoptiong fee/ donation to help offset some of the expenses relating to vaccinations, spay / neuter, feeding, boarding and miscellanious veterinary costs.
Adoption fees are used to continue to help homeless animals in need!
