Pita's one of the lucky ones. He's in foster care. His foster mom says that the housebroken, 12-pound, 4-year-old terrier mix gets along great with her dogs and listens when she tells him to leave the cat alone. Pita is an active guy who loves going for walks, romping around the yard and chasing lasers! He can sometimes take a little while to warm up to new people so we recommend a home with children old enough to respect his boundaries. If you're interested in adopting this little cutie, please call us at (530) 824-1985 or apply online at http://www.secondchancepetrescue.org/adoption-application.html.
Our regular adoption fee is $75 and it includes the dog's spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, flea treatment, dewormer, and microchip.
Prospective adopters must agree to a home visit, have secure fencing and allow their dog to sleep inside at night. Those coming from out of town may submit a vet reference in place of a home visit. All renters need landlord approval.
If you already have a dog or two, they must be spayed/neutered and brought to the shelter for a meet and greet. Homes that already have more than two dogs, or any unaltered dogs, will not be considered.
Exceptions to these rules may be made in special circumstances.
To get started, please stop by the shelter at 4312 Rawson Rd in Corning Sat-Sun 10am-3pm, call us at 530-824-1985 or apply online at http://www.secondchancepetrescue.org/adoption-application.html
