Mocha is an 8-year-old, 64-pound Labrador/Pitbull/Aussie mix. Don't you love her big smile, red coat, adorable ears, and white-spotted socks? What you can't see is the way she prances when she walks and how sweet and mellow she is to be around. She is a bit shy in new situations but has really blossomed under the care of her foster family. With a touch of patience and some TLC, she'll warm right up to you too. Mocha thrives in a laid-back environment where she can relax in her doggie bed - or maybe on yours. Mocha is getting better and better on the leash. She's much happier when taking short jaunts down a quiet street or on a trail, away from the city noises that make her nervous. If she's around a lot of commotion, she tries to pull you back home to her comfort zone. When meeting other dogs and strangers, she's a mix of friendly, polite and bashful. The way to really get Mocha's attention is to tempt her with a treat. She knows basic commands and will sit, lie down or stay in exchange for a tasty morsel. Overall, she's really easy to communicate with and could probably expand her list of commands with a little bit of work. Before coming to POMDR, Mocha was a loyal and loved family member, but her people moved to housing that doesn't allow pets. She's ready for a new, soft place to land.
