Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, my name is Peanut. I am an 8-month old Hound Mix. I weigh about 40 pounds right now, but am hoping I grow into my long legs. I still act like I weigh 10 pounds. My foster family thinks I’m a little goofy when I get running too fast and slide sideways on the hardwood floors like a baby giraffe on an ice pond.
Speaking of ponds, I keep having to be told to stay out of the pond in the back yard, but I just love water and it’s right there! I absolutely love playing with other dogs, kids and whoever else can keep up. I don’t mind the cats, even though I have a feeling they don’t like dogs very much.
I walk great on a leash and am ready to go on long walks because being a hound, I was born to sniff around. Even though I like having everyone at home with me, I do fine being in a crate while the others go to work or school. I am still working on being housebroken, but am a very good listener and really smart, so I know it can’t be too difficult for me.
I am an active, playful pup, but I do love to settle in for the night and snuggle. I am neutered and up to date on all my shots, so let me know if you want to meet and possibly add me to your family. I would be the happiest dog in the world!!
Our standard adoption fee is $295 cash or check and $300 credit card ($5 processing fee). It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping.
We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Please email safehavendogsIL@yahoo.com for an application or additional details.
Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed.
Please consider becoming a foster home while you search for your new best friend. We need foster homes - pounds are overflowing with puppies and adult dogs that are at-risk and need help. We can only rescue as many as we have foster home commitments. Fostering is a rewarding experience for your family.
