Hello there! I'm 'Big Boom' Boom for short. I'm loving, and I am smart! They gave me my food in one of those maze things that make you have to eat slowly, and within seconds I learned how to get around that -- I tipped it over onto the floor and ate just as fast as I wanted! I am people oriented, a good walker on the leash. I do have to admit that I like to chew things, so you'll want to keep an eye on me indoors until I have learned the difference between my toys and your shoes. Right now I have to restrict my activity because I'm being treated for heartworms, but soon I'll be well. I would love a home where we could do active things together when I'm all better, and also where I can just hang out with you and let our friendship grow.
The software requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs and cats. Visual breed identification is unreliable, so we are only guessing. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each animal's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.
We have many more dogs and cats at the McKamey Animal Center. Please visit our Center to meet your new best friend! All dogs and cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped before adoption.
Hours: 11am-7pm Tuesday thru Saturday and 1pm-5pm on Sunday

You'll receive a copy, too, at to help you keep track of which pets you've inquired about, and which shelters and rescues you've emailed.
NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter! Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures, on the pet's details page on Adopt-a-Pet.com.
