Facts about Kona

  • Breed: Great Pyrenees/Hound (Unknown Type) Mix
  • Color: White - With Tan, Yellow Or Fawn
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Female
Kona is about 4 years old and weighs 77 pounds. Her owner died suddenly and their was no one to care for her. She is used to being in a home, is house trained, and very good with other animals. She was also good with this man's grand kids. She is a beautiful, smart dog and needs to be in a good home. He lived in the country so he really never had a collar or leash on her, but she is learning to walk on a leash, but this still scares her a little. She is a big dog, but very gentle. Her eyes could melt your heart. If you would like to meet her, please call our shelter in Mountain View, Arkansas at 870-269-5200 or complete an application on line at schspets.org.

About Stone County Humane Society

About Our Shelter...

The Stone County Humane Society is a 501(C)(3) private organization, not a government entity that was formed in 1999. We rescue dogs and cats and are a no-kill shelter but we are not an open take in facility. We are currently operating from our new shelter building recently completed in August 2016 and a cat cottage. Our organization is managed by a volunteer board of 8 individuals and various committees that handle the day to day operations. Most of our daily operations are funded by proceeds from a Second Chance Shop in town and donations from individuals. We also provide low cost spay/neuter clinics to the people of our county with help from a local vet.

Our Adoption Process...

We charge a $100 adoption fee for dogs and $50 for cats. To make application to adopt a pet you will need to go to our website schspets.org and complete an online application and someone will call you to discuss adoption process and to make an appointment to visit our kennels and cat cottage.
