My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Violet is a 1 ½ yr old black Dane and a very dynamic young lady. She enjoys playing, running and frolicking with other big dogs. She has a huge heart but needs some training. A training requirement will be part of her adoption so she can learn proper manners and social skills. Full of Vim and Vigor she will bring a home to life with warm energy. She does love to snuggle and just love on you during her down time (but she is young - so keep energy in mind). Violet will be a grand addition to any home. She needs training, a strong family with patience and needs to have one or two medium to large dogs to play with to help burn off her energy.

Violet came to MAGDRL in August. (5)

Dogs-no small dogs. Lab size or larger

Update October 16
Violet…oh Violet…how far you have come. Violet is in her foster home and doing extremely well. We have found the key to Violet being the sweetest and obedient couch potato EXERCISE and LOTS of it. Violet is currently living with a boxer and another Dane. Her energy level is through the roof and she requires 4-5 30 minute or longer RUNS in the yard to be able to settle down in the home. Violet loves all dogs and all people. She will do best in a home that is on the quieter side inside as she feeds off the energy level in the home. She will require a fenced in yard and playmates. The more the better. She is getting better at reading body language of her playmates but she will be just too rambunctious for just one other dog. She will also need to be placed with dogs that are able to deal with a PLAYFUL puppy. She is a little too excitable for cats so we recommend she is not placed with them. She will need a firm owner and is not for a first time Dane owner. She is SUPER sweet and needs her humans. She is a leaner and gives kisses once she warms up. She will occasionally counter surf but is learning to be obedient in the home with a firm and consistent foster and TONS of exercise. She will be adopted with a training contract.

UPDATED 8 Nov 16
Violet is coming along amazingly well in her foster home. She gives kisses and leans and is the typical Dane needing her human family. Violet is completely house broken and crate trained and is looking for the perfect home to call her own. Violet’s foster family has been working on her manners and she takes treats gentler than any dog they have fostered. She is super sweet and great with all animals small and large. Violet is a self-stimulator and when left out in the yard by herself can amuse herself to no end. She will play with a stick, a leash, a toy, anything on her own. Violet would do fine as the only dog if she has plenty of exercise and human love. Violet will need a normal to calm house (on the inside). She is all puppy and feeds off the energy of the house. If the kids are running she will be too. NOT in an aggressive manner. There is not an aggressive bone in her body…but she will take time to settle. Violet would make an excellent outdoor partner, hikes, running etc. and after training (for her recall ability) she would be the perfect dog park Dane. She is gorgeous, rides great in a car and waiting for her forever family. She will be adopted with a training contract.
