Baloo's Story...
Hi, I’m Baloo and hear me roar! Ok, ok, my meow is more like a chirp – but it’s adorable! My foster mom thinks there’s a bird in the house everytime I meow. I’m one of the softest fluff balls you’ll ever hold. I’m also pretty darn cute, if I may say so myself! I’m not much for being held, but you can rub me all day long. I’m known as the lounger in my litter. I spend my time enjoying the simple things in life, like rubs, naps, and food. But that doesn’t mean I don’t like to play! My favorite toys are anything with feathers, they’re just so fun to chase! If you’re looking for an adorable companion to lounge around with, take me home!

Are you interested in adopting Baloo or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. There is no obligation to adopt by completing an application, however, we do recommend submitting an application as soon as you find an animal you are interested in. We review applications in the order they are received.

Completed applications can be sent via email to adopt@jcapl.org , faxed to 919-300-5524 or delivered in person by visiting us at one of our adoption events on Saturdays at PetSmart in Garner (White Oak Shopping Center) or at Petsmart in Smithfield.

We will contact you as soon as possible once we receive your application for Baloo.

Thanks for thinking adoption!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Baloo, a Smithfield Domestic Longhair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Smithfield, or seeking a Domestic Longhair kitten from a breeder in Smithfield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Smithfield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Smithfield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Smithfield paves the way for another one to be saved.
