Buttercup's Story...
Buttercup! Or as we will call her, hardluck Buttercup. She was brought into RCHS by out of state travelers that found her wandering on the side of the road. Very thin and loaded with fleas, Unfortunately, the poor girl did test positive for heart worm, so she will need to continue on Heart Guard while being monitored and restested every 6-12 months to monitor her progress. She has been on Heart Guard and will have to stay on that monthly as would any other dog as a heart worm preventative. Heart worms are not contagious to other dogs or humans, and take about 1 1/2 years to cure. She is a petite and suuuuuuuuper sweet Beagle mix at about 2 years old, weighs approx. 15 pounds, is up to date on all vaccinations, de-wormed, and will be spayed before adoption. She's very happy now and is very laid back. We would bet she'd love a fur-ever home and make anyone a great companion. Her adoption fee is $200. Her ID is DF1609001.. An application is available by clicking on the following link http://www.robesonhumanesociety.org/images/Adoption_Application_2015.doc
You can email it back to us at rchsfriendsforlife@gmail.com, or fax it to 910-738-8685. All animals at RCHS are up to date on vaccinations, tested for Felv/Fiv, heart worm and treated if positive, de-wormed and spayed or neutered if over the age of 6 months. If they are younger than 6 months, the adopter receives a voucher that is good at any vet and covers a portion of the procedure. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Buttercup, a Lumberton Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Lumberton, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Lumberton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lumberton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lumberton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lumberton paves the way for another one to be saved.
