"Nipper" is a handsome adult male Texel Guinea Pig who was surrendered to the HSOV by his owner on August 16, 2016. "Nipper" has a very unique beige curly-haired coat and a darling face with pink/red eyes. This little man is quite a conversationalist and loves to 'talk' :) "Nipper" is still working on his social skills and is making his temporary home in the lobby of our shelter. These updated photos were taken on August 25, 2016 and "Nipper" had a lot to talk about :) :) We love his cute little 'whistles' <3

About Humane Society of the Ohio Valley

About Our Shelter...

We are a non-profit shelter giving refuge to homeless and abandoned animals in Washington County Ohio. We strive to make their time here as comfortable as possible. We work very hard with our rescue groups to move our animals quickly and safely. We do this because we work for those who have no voice.

Rescue groups are encouraged to contact our Canine Rescue Coordinator (cr_ridgway@yahoo.com) or Feline Rescue Coordinator (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net)

Come Meet Our Pets...

We are located at 90 Mt. Tom Rd. in Marietta ,Ohio 45750. We are open Monday through Friday from 11:00am to 5:00pm. and Saturdays from 11:00am to 4:00pm. . Sundays by appointment only.

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process includes an adoption application which must be completed and approved by our shelter management. We verify veterinarian references and also approval from landlords if the pet will be housed in rental property. Home visits may also be required prior to adoption. .

Adoption fee for dogs is $125.00 which includes vaccinations, wormer, dog tag, and spay/neuter.

Adoption fee for cats is $20 dollars and includes vaccinations, wormer, and spay/neuter. Most adult cats (and kittens over 3-months of age) have already been spayed/neutered.

Adoption fees for other species varies.
