Cooper's Story...
Hi! My name is Cooper. I am about five years old.

I am settled in at my foster home in NC and really love being an inside dog. Right now I am trying to make up for all the years of no hugs and kisses. I get so excited when I see my people that I wriggle my whole body and have the biggest smile on my face. There was an eight year old girl who I used to live with, and I really liked her. I would make a great only dog or a companion for an older dog since I don't really need to play. I am living with three other dogs and get along fine, but I sure would love a “furever” home. I am not crated during the day because I am so well behaved. I stay in my own room and enjoy looking out the window. I do have a thyroid condition that will require medication for the rest of my life but the meds are not expensive.

If you love my infectious smile and are looking for a little red guy with a sweet black face that will love you forever, then please consider me.

Also, the rescue is looking for a new foster home for me. There is nothing that I did wrong. My current foster parents just need to focus on their other dogs right now, so it would be helpful to them if we found a new foster for me.

If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application and ask for Cooper!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cooper, a Barnegat Light Shar Pei dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shar Pei for sale in Barnegat Light, or seeking a Shar Pei dog from a breeder in Barnegat Light.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Barnegat Light already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Barnegat Light breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shar Pei breeders who help with Shar Pei rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Barnegat Light paves the way for another one to be saved.
