Meet sweet Buffy! This young lady is a love bug. She is always eager for... Everything! Buffy loves her food, her treats and pats, scratches and tummy rubs. She is always so happy to see you when you come back in the door! Buffy loves being outside, and going on walks. Sniffing is her favorite outside activity. It's a big world with lots of smells to sniff, and Miss Buffy wants to sniff every single one! So you will need some patience on walks. Other than that, Buffy walks very well. She doesn't like bicycles, though, and will lunge and bark at them. Buffy and her foster are working hard on not lunging, and will work on the barking after that. Buffy isn't really a barker. She will let you know if there is a stranger nearby, or a bicycle. Buffy loves to sit next to you while you read or watch TV. She isn't much for laps, just snuggling. Kisses make her happy, and good ear scratches. Buffy is very good about not jumping up on you. She likes to play (gentle) tug with her toys, and squeaky toys get a lot of attention. Her big brown eyes smile at you, and say "I love you!" every time she looks at you. Buffy sleeps on the couch or a chair. If given the opportunity, she will sleep on the floor next to the bed. When she loses a little weight, she might want to sleep on the bed with you but right now, its a little hard for her to jump up and down off the bed.

Buffy will do best in a house as the only female, or only dog. She gets along fine with her foster siblings, but she really wants all the love and attention! She is a good girl and will make a faithful and loving companion for her new family!

Buffy's original owner did not teach her good potty habits, so she is learning about not going in the house. She is getting *much* better, and will need some patience and continuing help. A doggy door and a yard will go a long way with helping her get better at that. She is also a little bit overweight so walks and exercise will be important for her care, going forward.

Our dogs are temporarily housed in pre-screened, loving foster homes while waiting their new forever home. They are also micro-chipped, groomed (if needed), and given a thorough professional veterinary exam to identify any health issues or potential issues. About Rocky Mountain Cocker Rescue, Inc

About Our Rescue Group...

The mission of Rocky Mountain Cocker Rescue, Inc. is to rescue, foster, train and rehabilitate unwanted Cocker Spaniels that have been mistreated, abused, neglected or abandoned and to place them in permanent, pre-qualified homes.

Our Adoption Process...

Just as we carefully screen the dogs that come into our rescue, we carefully screen any potential adopters to ensure our rescued dogs go to the best possible forever home.
The adoption process starts with the completion of an adoption application, which is reviewed prior to conducting a phone interview and checking the references. If everything looks and sounds good at that point, a home check is arranged as the final step prior to approval for adoption.
Once an applicant is approved, we match them with the best dog to fit their needs based on personalities and life style for a made-to-last relationship and close bond with their new friend.
