Reginald came to us because he was dumped at a farm site and when the family found this huge bundle of fur and realized he was all 4 paw declawed (and very very chubby) they knew that a farm was no place for a cat like that!  Well folks meet Reginald!  This big guy is now in search of a FOREVER home not an until you get too big for the kitty door, or my lap kind of home but a furever home where he can lounge around and wait for you to come home and give his big 'ol tummy a rub kind of home!  A suggested low fat diet and perhaps some leash training for short walks around the block are a good idea because chubby kitties might be cute but for health reasons Mr. Reginald could use to drop a few pounds!  If you are interested in adopting this big handsome hunk o kitty please go to our website at to fill out the cat adoption application and as always our adoption fees for cats are always free will to approved applicants!

About Emmet County Animal Shelter

About Our Shelter...

The ECAS is an all volunteer, no kill shelter. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome pets in need due to neglect, abandonment, abuse or from simply not being wanted! We started in 2010 due to a need in our community. We are currently a foster based organization and we are currently building our new shelter facility. We work hand in hand with other rescue and shelters in the area to help out when and where we are needed.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Check out all of our pets online at or send in an application to meet a specific pet! Once our shelter is open for operation stop in during our open hours to visit with a fuzzy friend in person.

Our Adoption Process...

All interested parties must fill out an adoption application and be approved prior to adoption. If a family has currently, or in the recent past had pets then a veterinary reference is required. If not then two personal references are required. Our adoption fees for dogs range from $150-$300. Our adoption fee for cats is free will donation. After an adoption has been approved an adoption contract must be signed.
