My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

YOU MUST HAVE AN APPROVED APPLICATION IN ORDER TO SET UP A TIME TO MEET OUR PETS.

Tippy is a super cute 6 and a half pound munchkin who just came into our rescue hours before his pictures and video. We will let you know more about him as we get to know him. We are not sure of his breed mix but he looks like he has a lot of Toy Fox Terrier, Chihuahua, or Rat Terrier in his heritage.

What we do know is that he is a very sweet boy who is a little shy at first but warms up quickly to treats and kind people. He had a home with an elderly owner until she was unable to take care of him. He found himself at the Martinsville SPCA where he has been for the past month. They decided our rescue group was a much better place for him than a noisy shelter so here he is with us, all ready for a great new home.

Tippy was a good boy for his bath and seems to appreciate being cared for and in a nice place. Though he may be a little timid first, very understandable with all the new stuff in his life, he obviously bonds quickly and very much enjoys being with his loved ones and friends. He seems to enjoy a cozy lap, especially once he is feeling comfy with you.

He does not seem to be used to playing with toys but he does do an adorable happy dance for tasty treats.

Tippy is great on the leash and enjoys going for walks. He is such a tiny guy that, even when he is fairly prancing with happiness at being outdoors, he still does not walk too quickly.

We do not know if he is housetrained but, if he has already pottied recently, he does not even mark bushes and stuff so he does not seem to be a marker or territorial kind of guy.

We have not tested him with other dogs yet but will soon.

We will also get him a dental cleaning soon so his mouth will be healthy and fresh.

Tippy is about 10 years old but does not act like a senior. He has a nice, even and calm temperament that should make him an easy keeper in his new home. If you are looking for a little love bug but do not want a pup that is as needy as an energetic youngster, Tippy will fit the bill!

The vet the SPCA uses already neutered him so he is ready to come home with you now. He has a heart murmur but does not need any treatment for this now.

Tippy is a darling little guy who certainly did not expect to end up in a shelter so he would be very grateful if you would give him a chance to grace your home with his sweet self and be your loving companion. If you appreciate how well behaved and sweet seniors are, you must come meet our adorable Tippy.
