Lola's Story...
LOLA was seen almost being hit by a truck along a road in NW TN. Thankfully the person who saw this, got Lola to safety and contacted our rescue for help. She was favoring one leg and she was very thin with ribs showing. An exam by the vet revealed no obvious fractures but possibly a small hairline fracture. Her fosters now report that Lola is getting around much better. She is no longer limping and she is able to climb up and down stairs slowly. She is much stronger and is putting on some weight. She weighed 35 pounds when first rescued, and she now weighs 43 pounds. She is estimated to be 2 years old and she has been spayed and vaccinated so she is all ready for adoption. She tested negative for heartworm. The vet did not guess at her breed, but she resembles a Black and Tan Coonhound or some other hound mix. She is sweet and appreciative. She is now wagging her tail and wants to play with toys. We are hoping she soon finds a forever home where Whatever Lola Wants, Lola Gets. If you live in another state, don't let that stand in your way. We will work to transport Lola if it means she will have a good forever home. If you are another rescue group, we will waive the adoption fee but you can make a donation toward vetting at your discretion. The adoption fee will help our 501(c)3 non-profit rescue to cover part of the cost of the veterinary care she has received.

Lola, a Union City Black and Tan Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Black and Tan Coonhound for sale in Union City, or seeking a Black and Tan Coonhound dog from a breeder in Union City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Union City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Union City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Black and Tan Coonhound breeders who help with Black and Tan Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Union City paves the way for another one to be saved.
