Max is a 8 month old puppy, about 35-40 lbs and what looks like a Shepherd-Collie-Lab mix.

He is a loving, smart, and playful big puppy.  Max was found as a stray. He is house trained and will not ever have accidents in his crate.  He is still young so if someone is not home or if he cannot be supervised he does get crated just in case. Max can sometimes be a submissive pee'er, but this is rare.

Max loves to just fall on his back for belly rubs...his favorite thing. He is very food motivated and loves to chew on deer antlers, and gets very excited for dental rawhides as a treat. He's wonderful with kids 5 years old and up in his foster home and loves to play with other dogs (big and small).

Max can sit on command and is learning to shake.  He is a people pleaser and will sit when he is unsure what you would like him to do. Max comes to work with his foster often at a veterinary clinic and is extremely well behaved.  Max loves to go on car rides and will jump right in when told and sit in the back. Max is not your typical puppy in if you are napping he will nap too, and will play when it is time.  He loves to be around people and will do what he can to please you, but also loves to play with his foster brothers. Max would love to be in a home with other dogs, but I believe would do great in a single dog home as well with some training.

About Cody's Friends Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

About us: Cody was the first pet I owned as an adult. He was a Shih Tzu that I bought unknowingly, from a Puppy Mill. He fought for his life and barely survived, suffering for the first few months of his life. From then on I was stirred by a ferocious passion to save as many dogs as I could through networking with other rescue groups and saving the ones I could off of cold streets and unwanted in shelters. Cody did not live a very long life due to a weakened body, but I was able to love on him for eight good years! He will always be loved and forever remembered. With over 400 dogs rescued so far, we ARE making a difference!!
Thank you for visiting and considering a rescue........................

Our Adoption Process...

Thank you for adopting and not buying!!! Every week hundreds of highly adoptabledogs are put to death by local shelters. Most people would be amazed at the purebred and beautiful dogs available, if they walked into their neighborhood shelter.

Rescue organizations, like mine, work hard to save as many as we possibly can but is a never ending process with breeders and Puppy Mills selling unhealthy animals to the public. If you EVER saw a puppy mill you would NEVER buy again!

All of my dogs are neutered or spayed, vet checked, completely vaccinated, wormed, groomed and checked for heart worms. They are all are current on Heart worm medicine, flea, and tick medications. Upon request, they are all microchipped as well.

Adoption fee is $200 to $250 (older "friends' can be less, please inquire. Puppies are $300 - Besides fully vetting all dogs, some of of the dogs I rescue, 1 in 5 I rescue have heart worms which is very expensive to treat. I also take in dogs who need surgeries and are close to death.
** Please note that I do not usually adopt out my dogs with children under four years of age.
