Tuna's Story...
Tuna is a beautiful Chartreux kitty that as of 9/1/17 is approximately 10 weeks' of age. She, her mother, and her 3 brothers were rescued from Van Nuys by a lovely family who are now fostering them until they can find their forever home. Tuna is a shy but very sweet girl. We showed her at adoptions for the first time yesterday and we held her for almost the entire day; she just loved it and did not even attempt to get away. She needs a little more work, but I know eventually with the right person, she will be the most loving and affectionate kitty. She has been exposed to 2 small kitty-friendly dogs and she was not terribly thrilled but we believe eventually will adapt as she gains her self-confidence. Please see below for Save A Kitty's Adoption Process.

Save A Kitty, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) kitty rescue. Our adoption process is as follows: We require a completed application (please go to:, a home check, and an adoption fee (with the amount depending upon the kitty). We will also discount the adoption fee, if an individual adopts 2 kitties at the same time. All of our kitties have been quarantined for a minimum of 15 days, had their shots, been tested for FIV/FELV, given parasite treatment, and will be spayed/neutered before being placed into their forever home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tuna, a San Fernando Valley Chartreux kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chartreux for sale in San Fernando Valley, or seeking a Chartreux kitten from a breeder in San Fernando Valley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Fernando Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Fernando Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chartreux breeders who help with Chartreux rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Fernando Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
