Facts about CRYSTAL

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Black & White Or Tuxedo
  • Age: Kitten
  • Sex: Female
  • Hair: Short

Our sweet CRYSTAL is approximately 3-4 months old. She is beautiful, poised and affectionate, and loves to jump and run around playing with other kitties like there's no tomorrow!

Little Crystal had a rough start though. When we took her in as a 6-week-old kitten, her left back leg was fractured in four places; most likely caused by being stepped on! Upon examination at Cats Exclusive Veterinary Hospital, they discovered that Crystal also had an Hydronephrotic left kidney - a direct result of the incident that also caused the fracture. Crystal had to undergo a Nephrectomy and remained in the hospital for several days

Crystal has healed beautifully and happily shares a foster household with other cats where she will remain until she is adopted. If you are interested in meeting Crystal, please call 201-945-0649 or email

About Bergen County Protect and Rescue

About Our Shelter...

Bergen County Protect & Rescue is a True No-Kill Animal Welfare Facility located in Cliffside Park. It was founded in 2012 by Eastern Bergen County's very own Animal Control Agency, Bergen County Humane Enforcement. The idea of creating a no-kill facility came to be when animal control officers were forced to take lost and abandoned animals to surrounding veterinarians and animals shelters with no knowledge of where their final destination would be. In most cases, the animals were treated and adopted out to loving homes while others were euthanized.

Inspired to help make a difference in the animal world today, BCP&R was created. Today, we are a 501c(3) non-profit, volunteer operated, no-kill animal shelter. We are grateful to all the rescue groups, veterinarians, shelters, volunteers and donors that helped make BCP&R what it has become today. Their guidance and support has empowered us greatly.
