Louie is available for adoption through Colorado Canine Rescue (CCR), a nonprofit dog rescue located in the Denver area. He came to CCR from a rural shelter in New Mexico and there is very little history on him. CCR is guessing that he is a Chihuahua mix and estimates that he is between 8-9 years old.
Louie is a sweet little guy who loves being close to people. He spins in excitement when he greets his people and enjoys hanging by your side or napping nearby. He begun to adjust to his foster home and enjoys playing with toys and with the other dogs. He seems to ignore the foster family cat. Louie enjoys walks and car rides. He is crate trained and will also sleep in the crate if it is in the same room as you. He is well behaved and has a sweet personality. He is potty trained but like many shelter dogs, he will likely need a little time to learn the ropes in his new home.
Louie would probably do well with or without other dogs in his new home but may not be suited in a family with small children as he gets startled easily by them.
If you are interested in adopting Louie please submit an adoption application located on our website, www.coloradocaninerescue.org. We are asking for a $100.00 adoption donation for Louie. Please note, CCR cannot guarantee the breed composition or ages of our dogs as we usually have no history prior to them entering the shelter.
