My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ford is a 4 yr old American Bulldog mix that is ready for a home of his own. Before coming into rescue, Ford spent his whole life chained to a post, sleeping in mud and filth. He was being eaten alive by bugs and his collar had long before grown into his neck.

Since coming to the Bullpen however, Ford has gotten healthy and is learning to trust people again. He is perfecting his leash skills, knows how to sit, and has learned how to use a dog door! Ford has been generally aloof with other big dogs, but we aren't sure how he feels about little dogs and cats. Because of his trauma, Ford needs a family with a quiet home: no small children or busy households for this guy!

Ford is neutered, current on his vaccinations, micro-chipped, and heart worm negative. If you would like more information on this awesome guy, please feel free to contact us at: info@bullpenrescue.org.

We highly recommend that our potential adopters fill out an online application as soon as possible, as it greatly expedites the process of finding the right dog for your situation. The adoption app is available on our website (www.bullpenrescue.org) under the 'work with us' tab. If you choose not to fill out an application before inquiring about a particular dog, please briefly tell us about yourself, family, and lifestyle since this will help us determine if the dog you’re interested in is a good match.

Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting. Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-serve basis, but rather we strive for a “perfect placement” so we know that they will not be failed again.
