Meet Edgar. He's a little guy with a big personality. Fearless, energetic and loving are perfect words to describe his personality.

A perfect day for Edgar would look like this. Wake up early but not too early, have some breakfast and then play in the yard with you or some dog friends. He loves the outdoors. He likes tug-o-war and keep away the best. Then a nap would be nice and maybe just hanging out with you until dinner time. Bed time in the crate is perfect and he sleeps through the night.

Edgar is a chi/terrier mix and weighs 10 pounds at 4 months and will be under 20 pounds when grown. He was found at about 3 weeks old in terrible shape. We don't know anything about his parents or siblings. He is crate trained and can also use potty pads. Potty training is going well and he's learning to give cues on when it's time to go outside. We are working on leash training and he really enjoys going on walks. He showed no interest in a cat he saw on a walk so could be good with cats. His pack here includes very large dogs, other puppies, and kids. Edgar is a great watch dog, loves kids and his pack.

About Cody's Friends Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

About us: Cody was the first pet I owned as an adult. He was a Shih Tzu that I bought unknowingly, from a Puppy Mill. He fought for his life and barely survived, suffering for the first few months of his life. From then on I was stirred by a ferocious passion to save as many dogs as I could through networking with other rescue groups and saving the ones I could off of cold streets and unwanted in shelters. Cody did not live a very long life due to a weakened body, but I was able to love on him for eight good years! He will always be loved and forever remembered. With over 400 dogs rescued so far, we ARE making a difference!!
Thank you for visiting and considering a rescue........................

Our Adoption Process...

Thank you for adopting and not buying!!! Every week hundreds of highly adoptabledogs are put to death by local shelters. Most people would be amazed at the purebred and beautiful dogs available, if they walked into their neighborhood shelter.

Rescue organizations, like mine, work hard to save as many as we possibly can but is a never ending process with breeders and Puppy Mills selling unhealthy animals to the public. If you EVER saw a puppy mill you would NEVER buy again!

All of my dogs are neutered or spayed, vet checked, completely vaccinated, wormed, groomed and checked for heart worms. They are all are current on Heart worm medicine, flea, and tick medications. Upon request, they are all microchipped as well.

Adoption fee is $200 to $250 (older "friends' can be less, please inquire. Puppies are $300 - Besides fully vetting all dogs, some of of the dogs I rescue, 1 in 5 I rescue have heart worms which is very expensive to treat. I also take in dogs who need surgeries and are close to death.
** Please note that I do not usually adopt out my dogs with children under four years of age.
