Jude's Story...
Jude is a young gentleman looking for his forever family. He was rescued from a kill shelter in the South, and is now gracing us with his presence at Empty Cages Collective's Brooklyn rescue center. Quickly becoming a volunteer favorite because of his seemingly constant eye catching gaze, and his readiness to play and be petted, Jude is indubitably a cat to remember. He came to us with a sad story of abandonment and loneliness, and within a matter of days became everyone's favorite boy.

Jude loves meeting new friends (human, feline and bunny alike!), and seems to get along with everybody.
He would do well in any home, and quite possibly dreams of a big family where he will never be lonely again. He said, he would also settle for a home with just a human companion as long as a lot of time is what Jude calls "together time".

Jude is a year old, neutered, up to date with vaccines, and has tested negative for both FeLV, and FIV.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jude, a Brooklyn Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Brooklyn, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Brooklyn.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Brooklyn already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Brooklyn breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Brooklyn paves the way for another one to be saved.
