already neutered, good with kids, good with dogs, and not good with cats.
I am already neutered, good with kids, good with dogs, and not good with cats.
Name: Boris Breed: Siberian Husky Mix Approximate Age: 2 years old Approximate Weight: 47 lbs Personality: a Husky through and through! Observations with Dogs: good Observations with Cats: too interested and would do best in a home without cats Observations with Kids: good Currently Living at: SC boarding, but coming to DC very soon
This gorgeous pup is Boris. He is a sweet husky mix who can be chatty sometimes, but that is just because he likes to sing you the song of his people! He would love a home where his people are active and can play with him and take him on fun adventures!
He plays well with other pups, but would do best in a home without cats. His foster mom describes Boris as a total lovebug who will snuggle with everyone, even strangers he has just met. He is also doing great with his housebreaking - she says he goes #1 and #2 immediately when taken outside and has even pawed at the training bells she has in her home. He loves to run, play with other dogs, and loves a good squirrel chase! His foster mom also tells us that he's shown no signs of being destructive or otherwise trying to get in to things outside of the crate. What a good boy!
Like most shelter dogs, Boris may need a refresher on housetraining and crate training. We ask all of DC PAWS’ fosters to work on both house and crate training with their foster dog.
If you are interested in adopting Boris, please submit an adoption application at http://dcpawsrescue.org/adoption-application/.
If you are interested in adopting, please submit an adoption application at http://dcpawsrescue.org/adoption-info/

About DC PAWS Rescue

Our rescue is an all-volunteer, foster-based dog and cat rescue in the DC area. We partner with a local rescuer in Pickens County, SC, who saves adoptable cats and dogs from the county’s animal control facility, which lacks the resources to facilitate adoptions to the public. Without a mechanism for local adoptions, all animals not claimed within the mandated hold period are euthanized. For the animals in this rural area, rescue is really the only lifeline. Our rescue partner not only works with DC PAWS to save as many dogs and cats as possible, but she has also established a successful spay/neuter clinic in the community to decrease the number of homeless and unwanted animals over the long term.

BE A FOSTER:

Fosters make it possible for DC PAWS to save and care for homeless, neglected and abandoned animals! To learn about fostering dogs or cats for DC PAWS Rescue, please contact us at: email@example.com!
http://dcpawsrescue.org/volunteer/fostering/foster-application/

BE A SPONSOR:

For any of our animals! Sponsors help us provide critical medical care, food, boarding and other support for animals facing euthanasia. Individuals who sponsor a dog or cat receive special recognition on the animal's profile. Sponsorships can also be made in honor or memory of a loved one, and you may designate to whom DC Paws Rescue should provide notice of your gift.
To learn more about sponsorship, please visit:http://dcpawsrescue.org/donate/

DC PAWS Rescue was formed to serve the interests of animals through activities such as animal rescue; providing sanctuary for abused animals; public education concerning the needs of animals in shelters, positive-reinforcement training for animals; placement of rescued animals in adoptive homes, and other related charitable activities.
Come Meet Our Pets...
At Adoption events listed on our website: http://dcpawsrescue.org/events/ and at foster homes, once an adoption application has been submitted and approved.
Please note that we are an all-volunteer organization and while it is our goal to respond to all emails we receive, we may not be able to do so due to the large volume of emails we receive. We recommend reviewing the animal's profile on our website and then submitting an adoption application as a first step. Thank you for considering adoption and DC PAWS Rescue!

Our adoption process entails: 1. An application 2. An interview 3. Vet check (if applicable) 4. Landlord check (if applicable) 5. Home visit
Our adoption fee is $350 for adult dogs or puppies; the adoption fee for senior dogs is $200. The adoption fee for kittens is $100, while the fee for adult cats is $135.
