Aurora is one of the most awesome kitties you are going to find. She is extremely affectionate, gives kisses, purrs nonstop, loves to play and is just a great all around kitty. This kitty has been through so much in her life - she needs a super special loving forever home. Aurora started life out by being brought to a very high kill shelter at only one day old. Her odds of surviving were slim but she was lucky. Aurora went to a foster home and was bottle fed. Against all odds Aurora thrived. After beating those odds Aurora's life became even more difficult when she caught a kitty cold. Normally kitty moms pass on protection against illness when the kittens are young but Aurora had no kitty mom. Her kitty cold got worse and she almost lost her life for the second time. Aurora again managed to survive but the illness took a toll on her eyesight. Her entire left eye was covered in scar tissue. With diligent medical care and some eye surgery the scar tissue around her eye was able to be removed. Her eyesight is most likely blurry in that eye but it doesn't bother her in the least. Aurora plays, purrs and seeks out attention more than any kitty in her foster moms care. She looks a little different which has made it hard for her to get adopted but you won't find a kitty with more personality. Aurora is highly socialized with other kitties and with the fosters dogs and must go to a home that has another pet to be her playmate. She is great with her kitty box. She is eating Iams kitten. Complete an application today to make this girls life better by having a loving forever home.

About Furry Friends Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Furry Friends Animal Rescue

We are a new group started in 2013 by a large group of experienced rescuers - we wanted to be part of an ethical rescue group which would allow us to help homeless cats and dogs in the North Texas area. We value all the experience and knowledge brought to this group by the volunteers so the group is member based. We welcome new volunteers and fosters, both experienced or new to rescue. You can contact us by email or through our website - we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All our cats and dogs live in foster homes so we don't have a physical shelter for you to visit.
A selection of FFAR cats will be showcased EVERY DAY at

McKinney PetSmart #1751 N. Central Expressway.

Adoption Counselors will be in attendance on Saturday and Sunday.

Adoption Counselors will be in attendance during that time.

If you are interested in meeting any of our cats or dogs, just send us a an email or fill out an Adoption Application on our website. The Adoption Application is not a commitment just a means of introduction. We look forward to hearing from you!

Our Adoption Process...

We do not adopt on a first-come, first-served basis - it is our goal to find the right home for the cat or dog as well ensuring that the cat or dog is the right match for it's new family. A win/win situation.
For dogs, we require an application, home visit for approved application, and home trial period to ensure that it's a good fit for the dog and the family.
For cats, we require an application, but do allow same-day adoptions. Our goal is to find our fosters a "forever" home.
Our Adoption Fees are $140 for cats and $175 for dogs.

All our cats and dogs are fully vetted prior to adoption - this includes all age-appropriate vaccinations, feline leukemia/aids testing, heartworm tests, deworming, spay or neuter, microchips and other medical treatment as required.

You can fill out an Adoption Application online on our website.
