Meet Jack, a 3 year old Shih Tzu mix
Meet Jack, a 3 year old Shih Zhu mix. He loves to just chill around the house. Likes other dogs and ok with cats . He came to us with a severely injured eye. We had to take it out but it doesn't seem to bother him as he probably did not see with it before. Very sweet dog.
California Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue group dedicated to the rescue of homeless animals from county shelters and out in the streets, and control of the population thru diligent spaying and neutering. We consist of a group of volunteers who rescue animals, foster them in our homes and place them up for adoption. Although we are a non-profit corporation, in practicality, we are just a handful of dedicated animal-loving volunteers. We all have jobs, families and busy lives, but we’re all committed to saving animals. Often we stay up nights bottle feeding kittens, or nursing sick or injured animals or making trips to the emergency vet.
Since we operate out of our own homes, our space is very limited so we limit our focus to rescuing animals in dire need. During spring and summer, we have seasonal foster parents that help us during the busiest times, taking in litters of tiny sick kittens or pregnant momcats. We always need more fosters so please contact us if you’re interested in fostering! Remember even Superman had foster parents.

Our Adoption Process...
Dogs start at $300 Cats start at $100 People must fill out an application and submit it to us for review. We try to match the animal with the person and will choose which home matches best if we have multiple applications for the same animal. If you rent, we will need to speak to your landlord or see the rental agreement to make sure that pets are allowed. We do not want our animals to be backyard only pets. We want them to be part of your family. Therefore, we do ask a lot of questions when we review the application with you. This is for your benefit and the dog or cat's benefit, too!

NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter!
Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures,
