Facts about Reba

  • Breed: Pit Bull Terrier Mix
  • Color: Red/Golden/Orange/Chestnut
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
  • ID#: 2016293C
Reba was rescued by Helping Strays from St. Clair Animal Control on her very last day. Thank goodness! She's a beautiful, happy and loving girl. Reba is in a foster home where she is all about being with 'her person'. She is excellent in the house, no chewing or accidents. Reba will snuggle up wherever you are and have not a care in the world. She does have some special needs, however. Reba is extremely selective when it comes to her tolerance for other dogs. In her foster home, she does well with a 3 yr old male German Shepherd and a 4 yr male old Cattle Dog mix. She is not a dog who could ever go to a dog park or other social event with other dogs she doesn't know. Reba would do best with an easy going male dog or by herself. She would do well in a home where she would not have to deal with other people's dogs, eg, not in an apartment building or a home with a shared fence line with other dogs in a neighboring yard. If you would like to meet Reba and can provide a safe haven for her, we will arrange for her foster family to meet with you.
Reba's adoption fee is $175; she is microchipped, spayed, and up to date on vaccines. Some of our pets are in foster care. If you are interested in a specific pet, please contact the shelter at (618) 939-7389 to arrange a meeting.

About Helping Strays of Monroe County

About Our Shelter...

We promote the humane care of all abandoned and stray animals in our community. We are a no-kill shelter. All of our pets leave the shelter for their forever homes micro-chipped, up to date on vaccines, and altered.

Founded in 2002, Helping Strays is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization supported entirely by donations.

Our lucky animals receive appropriate medical care, are featured on the Helping Strays website "adoption list" and are taken to several adoption events every month in an attempt to find permanent, loving homes.
