Facts about Reinhold

  • Breed: Dachshund
  • Color: Black - With Tan, Yellow Or Fawn
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Male
Posted 9/6/16. Reinhold came to The Nest from a local animals shelter after he was surrendered by his owner because she could no longer take care of him. Reinhold is your typical Dachshund: very sweet and friendly with his humans, opinionated and somewhat protective of his people, he does get along great with other dogs and is fine with cats. He loves to be with his human as much as possible and he likes going for walks and snuggle with his person(s). Overall Reinhold is very well behaved - he is house trained (occasional accident, marking may happen at the beginning) he does not bark except when someone comes to the door. Reinhold is about 8 years old and he weighs about 14 lbs. (he should be at about 12). Part of his tail is missing but we don't know what happened with it as we did not receive any info regarding his life prior to coming to us. For this fabulous and fun loving pup we are looking for a home where he gets a lot of attention and with a securely fenced in yard. It would be very nice if there was another dog about his size (preferably female) as he likes canine companionship. Reinhold is neutered, current on vaccinations including Rabies, he recently had a thorough exam including blood work and dental (medical records all provided) - he is in excellent shape - he is on heartworm/flea prevention and he is micro chipped. If you are interested in adopting this fabulous fun loving and cuddly pup please fill out an adoption application on our web site An adoption application has to be filled out PRIOR to setting up a meeting. Reinhold's adoption fee is $200. No children under 12.

About The Nest

About Our Rescue Group...

The Nest,is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization. Our mission is to rescue, restore, and re-home animals that come from local animal shelters or from individuals who contact us directly.

We are guided by the following ideals:

We will always place the physical and mental well-being of our animals above our own and that of other individuals, making a constant effort to act as an advocate for the animals we serve.

We will to the best of our ability assist in the care and placement of animals that require our assistance, regardless of breed, age, demeanor, physical or behavioral health, because we believe that all animals at any stage in life and health have inherent value and an important place in the world in which we all live.

We will provide educational support for those individuals who seek our assistance, believing that educating the public is one of the keys to keeping animals in their homes and preventing senseless euthanasia.

We will provide ongoing care and homes for animals we cannot place in adoptive homes, because we believe that animals that make their way to The Nest should be cared for until their last days.
