My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The Shih Tzu/Poodle is a favorite of the mixed breed dogs. We all seem to love the combination of the outgoing nature and fun personality of the Shih Tzu combined with the smart and intuitive nature of the Poodle. Jewel appears to be a perfect combo of these two popular breeds. Her gorgeous silver/charcoal coat lights up her adorable face. She will be the most beautiful girl around when she gets a much-deserved grooming..we'll update with photos when we receive them.

Jewel is obviously very special...she was found wandering sadly through a Houston neighborhood and a wonderful Texas foster couldn't let her go..she brought her into her home to heal and to ready her for a forever home.

At just about 18 - 24 months old and approximately 12 lbs, Jewel shines with an engaging and incredibly sweet disposition. She is an active girl whose tail never, ever stops wagging. She loves to be included in all fun and would love nothing more than socializing or a neighborhood walk with her family. She enjoys gentle, respectful older kids and would be an active participant in outdoor fun in the yard or a walk to the park. She also enjoys the company of other dogs and would always enjoy a shared walk.

Somewhere along the line, we think that Jewel was given love and respect..probably because she's so capable of returning warmth and kindness. Jewel is great to take along anywhere there are groups of dog-loving people. She's a bit shy but always warms up with sweetness and warm hugs.

We feel that Jewel would do well in any home that offered her love, time (long hours left alone at home wouldn't be in the best interest of this social and sensitive pup), appropriate exercise/ mental stimulation and positive reinforcement training to make her the best dog she can possibly be.

We've just received a foster report from Texas saying that Jewel is wonderful! She'll jump on your lap, cuddle with you, and then lay her little head on your chest with a big sigh. Jewel also loves taking walks socializing with kind folks and then loves to get home to greet my dog to play in the yard or just lie in the sunshine.
I fell in love with Jewel the second I met her and felt her goodness. I loved her enough to strongly consider adding a 4th dog to our pack..but these thoughts weren't shared by my husband I hope she is adopted into a family that truly loves and appreciates her.
My dear, sweet Jewel...I love you so and wish you a place in the best home ever!

Jewel is a non-shedding girl (great for those with allergy concerns) and therefore requires great nutrition and periodic grooming to keep her cottony-soft coat healthy and matt-free.

We've requested that Jewel be spayed prior to her transport to Denver. If this doesn't occur, Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Jewel's spay and microchip at our Denver vet.

Jewel will arrive on transport in Denver on Saturday 9/10/16. If interested in this cuddly and sweet best friend, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com or fax to 303-443-7730.
