Chloe is a friendly, playful and easy going one-year-old Redbone Coonhound who will be coming to Four Paws in late September from the National Mill Dog Rescue located in Colorado. She came from a puppy mill and is not yet house trained but is able to walk on a leash. Her new home will need to include a yard, as she loves plenty of outside time, running and playing with toys. Chloe is VERY active, loves people and wants to be with someone at all times. She is a goofy, fun ball of energy and will require a very dog savvy, very active and understanding home that will enable her to blossom. Proper training will be required and someone who knows Coonhounds would be best. She is a super fun, beautiful, sweet girl, but a real handful. Small children are not recommended at this time due to her high activity level. She is easygoing and friendly around other dogs both large and small, but will need to be introduced to other canines because she is so active right now that she could inadvertently hurt a smaller dog or possibly irritate a larger dog. For further information regarding Chloe, please email us at or call Rebecca at (619) 851-1129. Her adoption fee is $200.00.

All of our dogs are in private volunteer foster homes, and as such these individuals are most qualified to answer any questions regarding the dog.

Please download our Adoption Application at our website, Complete and email it back to us at We do not have a central shelter or kennel locations - You must make a private one-on-one meet and greet appointment with each individual dog at the foster family's convenience.  To protect our foster families' privacy, we must have an approved adoption application on file before we release their contact information. All of our dogs are (spayed/neutered), micro chipped and up to date on their vaccines. We have a 2 week foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog is a good fit for your family. Adoption fees vary from dog-to-dog,  Pure-breeds adoption fee will vary. Please note that an approved application DOES NOT guarantee that the dog will be placed with you. The final decision rests with our fosters, as they know the dogs the best, and please be aware that there may be other applicants interested in the same dog. We continue accepting applications on a dog until the dog is placed with the new adoptive family in their home. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact Rebecca at 619-851-1129 or Debbie at 619-283-1364.

About Four Paws Coonhound Rescue & Friends

About Our Rescue Group...

Four Paws Coonhound Rescue (FPCR) was started about 9 yrs ago by Rebecca Stevens. She'd recently found and adopted her beloved Gigi through Beagles and Buddies. When she realized how many coonhounds find themselves without a home, she decided to join a rare network of people who work to rescue and place coonhounds. Coonhounds are still pretty rare in Southern California, but FPCR places 50+ coonhounds per year. We are still dedicated to coonhound rescue, but our mission has evolved to include any dog or cat in need of a home. Four Paws Coonhound and Friends Rescue is a designated 501 (c) (3) (c) animal welfare organization. Our organization provides transportation, food, shelter, and support to our rescued dog and cat friends in need.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All of our adoptable animals are in private foster homes and are seen by appointment only. We do hold a monthly adoption event at Muttropolis in Solana Beach from 11-2 but the dates do vary depending on the schedule.

Our Adoption Process...

All of our potential adopters are required to start with filling out an adoption application, we then set up a meeting for that particular pet. We do recommend that they do a trial period to make sure that the animal and the family are perfect for each other. If all goes well then we will finalize the adoption. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped. We also pay to register the microchip in the new owner's name. We do charge an adoption fee which will vary depending on breed & age. We also offer a senior to senior program.
