Poncho's Story...
Poncho is a handsome Senegal parrot he knows his name. He says “come here” “come here” when he wants a treat.. He loves men. He also loves hanging out up side down. When he first arrived in our house he would only speak to my husband. We have had him about a month and now he is finally coming around and will talk to me and he hangs out with me and my children during the day. Treats are the way to his heart.

He will say “treat” and then will continue to repeat if he does not get something. He is easily appeased and is happy just being out of his cage. Poncho is earning his spot in my heart and will do the same in his new forever home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Poncho, a St. Louis Poicephalus (including Senegal and Meyer's) was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Poicephalus (including Senegal and Meyer's) for sale in St. Louis, or seeking a Poicephalus (including Senegal and Meyer's) from a breeder in St. Louis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in St. Louis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a St. Louis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Poicephalus (including Senegal and Meyer's) breeders who help with Poicephalus (including Senegal and Meyer's) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in St. Louis paves the way for another one to be saved.
