  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Female
/wThis Beautiful girl, is an 8 year old Pointer/with some Boxer, LACY is a wonderful dog weighing in at 51 poundsshe acts like she is a very young dog. Lacy is spayed, current on her vaccinations, de-wormed and has had Advantage for flea control and she has been heartworm tested and is on the meds; she is also microchipped. She is housetrained and sleeps inside.  Laceyplays with toys and balls; she always brings the ball back as long as you are playing with her using the chuck-it.   Lacyenjoys having both a toy and a ball in her mouth at the same time and will cram as many toys that she can fit in her mouth.  She will even go on a walk with toys in her mouth, never dropping them, she considers them her babies. Lacy loves to lay on her cot bed with a squeaky toy underneath her making noise, lol.  She also loves the swimming pool that we have  there and will just lay in it.   She runs around the yard gathering all the toys and puts them by the back door then will sit in one spot and play with all the toys. Staff says this precious girl walks very well on leash, she is a VERY sweet dog, rides well in the car and is an absolutely love. Lacy loves to give kisses. We are told she gets along with all dogs, just didn’t get along with her sibling when it came to food. You would need to feed her separately which is easy to do. We are not sure but think males may best suited for her although we were told Lacy got along with all dogs at the dog park. Lacy is very loving and is a house dog that is house-trained so will be a great lady inside the house; she will be an awesome companion. She does not act like an 8 year old dog, her whole back end wiggles when she sees you.  Lacy does love her walks and would be a perfect companion for a younger retiree. She love, loves, loves people.  This is one awesome dog…and is a perfect size for your home.  " Questionnaire

Our Adoption Process...

AFCHS is a non-sheltered humane society organization modeled after some of the more progressive humane societies. We do not believe any home is better than no home, but instead, work to find the right home for each specific animal.
If you are interested in adopting an animal, please fill out and submit the adoption questionnaire or call 209-368-1761 or 209-365-0535. ALL of the fields on the application MUST be filled out or the application will not send, if this happens your time will have been lost. If you are having trouble filling out the on-line application we can email you a copy to fill out. You can also copy the application and paste it into a word document, fill it out and then send it to us at please call us afternoons at 209-368-1761 or 209-365-0535
Filling out a questionnaire is not a commitment to adopt. It does help us determine if the dog or cat you inquire about is suitable for your home and to suggest others not yet on our site.
While we have some dogs and cats at our Sanctuary most of them are in foster care or rescue homes. An application must be completed before an appointment can be set to meet them.
