Garfield Look-a-like in CT Seeks Loving Adults Only - No Pets Home - Supplies Included

Hi, My name is Rusty!

There is a $25 adoption/rehoming fee. All supplies will be included.

If they ever make a live-action version of “Garfield”, I am a shoe-in to play the lead role! I am a ravishing red tabby with cute white markings and the most adorable shape! I have the most endearing personality -very outgoing and friendly. I love flopping down on the floor and gazing up at you adoringly.

I am a healthy, happy 8 year old domestic shorthair cat. I am a big guy at between 15 and 20 pounds, and I admit that I am a foodie. I have been neutered, and have no health problems. My owner will provide my veterinary records to my new owner.

I love being the center of your world. I am the kind of cat that follows you around the house like a dog, hanging on your every word. I am cuddly and love to snuggle up beside you. I am not a lap cat, though. I love to play and can fetch, too! When it comes to other pets, I am not a fan. I don’t like having other pets around – they make me anxious and territorial. I also love to have my human around, and don’t like to be left on my own for long periods of time.

My owner loves me so much, but with increased job demands requiring travel, and becoming engaged to someone with severe cat allergies, it has become necessary to find me a better home.

The ideal home for me will be with just 1 or 2 adults that spend much of their time at home, and can give me a quiet, predictable environment. I am such a great companion and friend, and I need to have my people near me! When I feel lonely or unsettled, I have had accidents outside my litter box. My new owner will need to be patient with me while I adjust to my new environment. I will probably need 2 litter boxes, placed in secluded areas where I feel very safe. A pheromone plug in like Feliway will probably help as well.

One thing about me is that I don’t like to be transported places. I get very upset and nervous when my owner has had to take me to the vet. It would probably be best for future vet visits to be mobile and come to me.

Once I feel comfortable and safe in my new home, you won’t find a more friendly, sweet, funny or loving cat, so I am definitely worth the patience you’ll need while I get used to you and my new home.

Please offer me a loving, forever home today. I am a real cutie-pie, and will add many years of love, joy, laughter and companionship to your life and home.

Purrs and paws,

About New York City Find My Pet A Home

About Our Rescue Group...

In many locations throughout the USA and Canada, shelters are rescues are filled to capacity, leaving pet owners who can no longer care for their pet with nowhere to turn. Many pets are needlessly being euthanized.

Being placed in a shelter is a very stressful experience for all pets - and their owners. We offer a very good alternative, allowing pets to stay in the loving care of their owners while a new home is located for them.

We have helped many pet owners in need to place their pet in a home where they have great peace of mind in knowing that their pet is being cherished, well cared for and kept safe, happy and healthy.

Come Meet Our Pets...

In most instances, our pets stay with their owners until a new home can be located. There are some situations which require a more urgent placement, and in these instances, we look for loving foster homes to care for these pets until a permanent home can be located.

Our Adoption Process...

When a pet is placed with our organization, our staff create a very honest and compelling adoption story about the pet, using the information provided to us.

We then spread the word about this pet's need for a new home through a wide variety of online services, and through local outreach.

Interested parties are directed to fill out a formal request to meet a pet, providing in-depth information about themselves.

Before a potential adopter is introduced to a pet, we do careful reference screening and a criminal records check.

Should the pet's owner and the adoptive party agree to an adoption, a formal agreement is entered into, requiring the new owner to agree to keep in touch, ensure the pet's physical and emotional well-being, and provide a safe, happy and healthy home.

They are required to agree that they will not surrender the pet to a shelter or give away the pet - but rather they are to contact our organization so that we can find another suitable home, in the event that they are unable to fulfill their commitment.

The owners deliver the pet to the new owners, so that they can do a home inspection prior to leaving the pet in the new owner's care.

Our organization provides follow-up services, contacting the new owners after the first week, and then every 45 days for the first nine months post-adoption. This helps ensure the pet is being well cared for, and that the new owners have any support they need in adjusting to life with their new companion,
