Missy's Story...
Missy is a spayed, female mixed breed approximately 6 1/2 years old and weighs 11 pounds. She has always been an inside cat. She can be a bit shy, but has the loudest purrs when she’s ready for attention. She enjoys playing fetch with the rubber hair bands, and will usually bring it back for you to shoot across the room again. She has lived with one other cat and has always been around dogs, but usually stays away from them. We have had her since she was about 6 months old and on June 28, 2016 she had a complete comprehensive exam to include : prevention for Roundworms, Hookworms, Blood Cell Count, Serum Chemistries, Differential Exam, Fecal Exam and received both his Rabies and Feline Leukemia Virus vaccines. Was vaccinated for FVRCP on 5/19/15 and is not due again until 5/19/18

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Missy, a Weatherford Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Weatherford, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Weatherford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Weatherford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Weatherford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Weatherford paves the way for another one to be saved.
