Here is your chance to extend “summer.” Adopt the beautiful and delightful orange tabby gal named Summer. Summer was rescued from a feral colony around New Richmond as she was very pregnant and not in the best of shape having lived the tough life of a feral. The day she was saved, Summer delivered four beautiful kittens, which were adopted within an hour of being brought to OAR when they were old enough for adoption. Summer is now ready for her deserved chance at a happy and loving forever home. Not only is she ‘purr’dy to look at, she is quite sweet and will purr just by you talking to her. Currently, she is not a big fan of being picked up, but if you sit down, she will curl up next to you and want to be petted. Summer was a very good momma, and even learned to play with them. She loves attention, and one of her favorite meals is Fancy Feast Chicken. In her foster home, she was learning to trust humans again, but getting relocated again (to the rescue) she is having to learn once more. As most know, kitties are not fond of changes. But, we are pretty confident, her faith in humankind will return quickly, and her sweet ‘purr’sonality will shine through. Summer gets along with other cats, but it would be best if the others are of the “less dominant” type. She likes children, and her foster mom thinks she might become a lap kitty. She is definitely a “sit beside you” gal. Do something nice for yourself, and most importantly, for Summer. Come meet her, and give her that loving home that she dreams about...

Our Adoption Process...

We have many cats and kittens looking for wonderful homes! All of our cats are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, tested for FIV and Feline Leukemia, and microchipped. Adoption fee is $50. Because we like for our cats to go home in pairs, we have a standing 2 for 1 adoption special -- you can adopt 2 cats for one fee of $50.

Meet some of our cats and kittens, and fill out an application today! An OAR representative will get in touch with you to discuss your application. We do require a phone screening before an adoption so if you are coming to visit the cats and hope to take a cat or kitten home that day, fill out and submit the application at least a day beforehand so we can pre-approve your adoption.

As of 3/7/12, our adoption policy requires that the adopters of our cats not declaw the cats, no matter what the cat's age. We will, with our adoption counselors' help, provide potential adopters with information on alternatives to declawing. We also sometimes have previously declawed cats up for adoption. These can be a good alternative for adopters who are adamant about declawing.
