Hi!!!!! Wanna play? I'm Annabelle but they call me Annie. People always try to guess what kind of dog I am but my foster dad says I am a Blue Sweetie. I can't tell you much about my past but there were some pretty scary days and I didn't have anyone to feed me or take care of me. I ended up at an even scarier place - the county shelter - and by that time I was not in such good shape and my coat had some really bad places. They didn't seem to have any hope for me there and they were going to put me to sleep. My luck changed when kind people from VOCAL rescued me! They gave me medicine and good food and I got to live in a foster home with a family that took care of me. My foster mom said every morning I came out of my crate that I looked more beautiful! Although I can sometimes have a timid moment in new situations, I am really a friendly and affectionate dog and enjoy meeting kind people very much. I give my foster parents lots of kisses and I get along great with the 8 other dogs I live with. I LOVE to play and have lots of energy. I can play with almost any other dog if they are willing. I even get a little old geezer who is 14 to play now and then and also with a dog who can't walk properly - but he can tug of war with a toy really good!! Oh! and I LOVE toys. I love to chew them up but... I know that I must only chew my toys and foster mom says I am good at that. I am also very, very good at pottying outside and not inside. I know my "sit" and "down" and I sleep quietly in my crate at night. So... with all that really good stuff going for me, would you like to adopt me???

About VOCAL - Voices of Change Animal League, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

We have seen the issues of pet overpopulation firsthand. Our board members, staff and volunteers have worked with local animal shelters and have seen the thousands of animals in Marion County that have nowhere to go, who are often abandoned and/or killed. We also recognize the strength of the human-animal bond and have witnessed the situations that animals often fall into during a family crisis. We have made it our mission to help these animals. We hope you will join us!

Come Meet Our Pets...

We don't have a shelter facility; all of our animals are in foster care. We think this is pretty great! Having adoptable animals in foster homes teaches them pet manners such as housebreaking and social skills. It also allows us to learn a lot about the animals and helps us determine the type of home the animal will be most successful in.

If you are wondering how to meet an animal you are interested in adopting, you have to fill out an application first. Then, if we feel you could be a fit, we set up a home visit and meet and greet with the animal.

Our Adoption Process...

We require an adoption fee for both dogs and cats, an application, and a home visit. We end the process with our adoption contract.

If you are interested in applying for one of our animals, please visit our website Our dog and cat applications can be found under the "Paperwork" heading or on the "Adopt" page.

We accept multiple applications on all of our animals; we believe in finding the best fit home. We don't place animals on a first come, first serve basis. Once we receive your application, we will reach out to you to review your application if we feel you could potentially provide the best fit home for the animal.
