Diesel's Story...
11/20/2016: DIESEL HAS BEEN ADOPTED! Diesel is a 9-10 month old corgi/dachshund mix. He weighs about 12-15 pounds and will remain small. Diesel originally belonged to an elderly lady but because he is a puppy, he was too much for her to handle. He would want to play and would scratch her accidentally. She was also unable to take him outside for walks and exercise. We were told that he been bell trained to go outside but that the elderly lady would not take him out which has confused him about going potty outside. He will need to be re-trained to use the bathroom outside but he is still a pup so consistency and getting him on a regular routine should make that task quite easy.Diesel now needs a new home. Diesel is good with other dogs and is good with children. He is playful and friendly. He would love a home where he can go outside and play. Other pets or children would be ideal but if he were to be an only child, i am sure he wouldn't mind getting all of your attention. He is the perfect size for traveling and fits on your lap! I am sure Diesel would love being your new best friend. Diesel's adoption fee is $200 and will help to cover his vetting and daily cost of care while with us. If interested in giving this adorable little guy a home, please email your adoption application and interest to us or call us @ (352)493-1255 for more information or to set up a day/time to meet him.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Diesel, a Chiefland Corgi/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Corgi/Dachshund for sale in Chiefland, or seeking a Corgi/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Chiefland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chiefland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chiefland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Corgi/Dachshund breeders who help with Corgi/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chiefland paves the way for another one to be saved.
