I am already neutered, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.
Diesel is a 9-10 month old corgi/dachshund mix. He weighs about 12-15 pounds and will remain small. Diesel originally belonged to an elderly lady but because he is a puppy, he was too much for her to handle. He would want to play and would scratch her accidentally. She was also unable to take him outside for walks and exercise. We were told that he been bell trained to go outside but that the elderly lady would not take him out which has confused him about going potty outside. He will need to be re-trained to use the bathroom outside but he is still a pup so consistency and getting him on a regular routine should make that task quite easy.Diesel now needs a new home. Diesel is good with other dogs and is good with children. He is playful and friendly. He would love a home where he can go outside and play. Other pets or children would be ideal but if he were to be an only child, i am sure he wouldn't mind getting all of your attention. He is the perfect size for traveling and fits on your lap! I am sure Diesel would love being your new best friend. Diesel's adoption fee is $200 and will help to cover his vetting and daily cost of care while with us. If interested in giving this adorable little guy a home, please email your adoption application and interest to us or call us @ (352)493-1255 for more information or to set up a day/time to meet him.
We are a small rescue started in September 2004. To date, we have adopted out over 250 dogs and cats who may not have had a second chance. We rescue the majority of our pets from kill shelters and have them thoroughly vetted prior to going to their new homes. All of our pets are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, heartworm checked(dogs) and dewormed. We also microchip our dogs so that they can always find their way home. Big and small, we work to rehome them all. We are always in need of donations so if you can help us to help our pets, please contact us! The more people who get involved, the more pets that we can save! You can also see our pets and/or fill out our adoption application on www.petfinder.com. We look forward to hearing from you and making that "forever match"!
Come Meet Our Pets...
We operate from our home so our pets can be seen by appointment only. Please call or e-mail(prefer) to schedule a time to visit.
Our Adoption Process...
We require an adoption application to be filled out and approved prior to any adoption. Our adoption fee for our dogs is $125.00 and up and for most of our cats that still require vetting it is $75.00. We currently have a special adoption fee for our cats who are already completely vetted(spayed/neutered and UTD vacc )You can adopt one of these kitties for ONLY $25.00!!! If for any reason a pet that you adopt can not remain with you, we require that the pet be returned to Paws & Claws to be rehomed. We do NOT give refunds for any reason so please consider adoption carefully before you take a pet home. We also ONLY accept CASH as payment for our adoption fees. Our main requirement to adopt is LOVE! If you can offer love to a needy pet, please consider adoption. Your reward will be a devoted friend for life.
