Porthos is about 1 year old. We are guessing that he is whippet or Italian greyhound mixed with a Terrier breed. That mask and curly tail throws us off a bit though. He weighs about 307pounds. Porthos is such a sweet boy who is very loving. He can be a little timid around new people, especially men, and needs time to warm up. For now, we think it's best for Porthos to go into a home without young children. His favorite place at night is to be snuggled up on the bed of his person. We would love for this to be able to continue for him in his forever home.
In the first finder's home Porthos was briefly introduced to cats. He seemed to do well, but he wasn't allowed too spend much time with them. He never showed any desire to chase or hurt them. We now know that Porthos loves other dogs and might learn some important things from another confident dog. Besides that, it's always nice to see dog-friendly dogs have doggy playmates for them to romp and wrestle with. Porthos is doing so well with dogs, that we believe he needs a playmate in his forever home.
Porthos is neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm tested and microchipped. Porthos is housebroken and can be trusted when confined to a room or crate. He is quiet in the home and rarely barks.
