My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

✰✰ SUNNY Male 1 1/2 years & AVAILABLE - for more photos of SUNNY please click http://norcalbcrescue.org/sunny_2017.html ✰✰

SUNNY is a 1-½ year old boy seeking his forever home. Affectionate and loving is how we would describe this smooth coat boy – he seeks and wants your approval and positive comments. He loves squeaky toys, balls (both large and small) and a good deer antler to chew on. Besides being beautifully marked, SUNNY has an endearing look where the lower jaw is shorter than the top jaw. It does not affect SUNNY’S health or ability to eat, play or give out plenty of love! NCBCRA is so fortunate to have access to the UC Davis Veterinary Hospital, where SUNNY was evaluated and treated in August 2016 by the Dental School.

SUNNY, being the young boy that he is, needs basic training with an owner who will take things slow. SUNNY was not properly socialized as a puppy and although he strives to please you at all times, he is not confident in busy environments or situations. Because of his sensitive temperament, SUNNY would do best in a quieter household with owners who are willing to support and coach him through new experiences. SUNNY’s foster family recently had him evaluated by Sacramento trainer Susan Newell at Animal Minds (animal-minds.com). The session went so well that NCBCRA would like SUNNY’s new family to work with Animal Minds so that the transition process is successful for both dog and owner. NCBCRA will fund 2-4 sessions; if you are outside the Sacramento area, we’ll work together on how training can be delivered.

SUNNY gets along well with other dogs, will need some work on his leash skills, is housebroken (but may submissively urinate when excited/nervous), crate trained, and rides well in the car. SUNNY is a very sweet boy looking for an owner to nurture his gentle spirit, coach him to adulthood, and be his sun, moon and stars.

SUNNY is micro-chipped, neutered, heart worm negative and on preventative, and up to date on vaccinations. If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Adoption Application (http://norcalbcrescue.org/adopt_info.html) and wish to enquire about SUNNY, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have an approved adoption application with Border Collie Rescue of Northern California let us know and we will request it be forwarded to us for consideration.

SUNNY is being fostered in Granite Bay in Placer County, California.
