Hazel *MY FEE IS REDUCED*'s Story...
Meet Hazel! This nervous nellie came in with 10 other Chihuahua mixes; many of which are quite nervous (like her). She is just under a year old and is very attached to her little buddy Heinz. They make each other feel comfortable, so we are urging them to be adopted together. They are very scared of the loud shelter environment, so scared that they tremble nonstop in their kennel. We know they would absolutely thrive in a home! Plus, once they get used to you, they are lively, bouncy, funny and absolute love bugs. They just need that chance to show you! Won't you come visit them a few times to show them it's ok to be themselves with you?!

We will let you know Hazel is available and able to have applications submitted once you've met. For more information, please give us a call at (302) 571-0111 or visit us at our center (701 A Street Wilmington, DE) Tuesday-Friday 12-7pm or Saturday & Sunday 12-5pm.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hazel *MY FEE IS REDUCED*, a Wilmington Chihuahua/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Dachshund for sale in Wilmington, or seeking a Chihuahua/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Wilmington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wilmington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wilmington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Dachshund breeders who help with Chihuahua/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wilmington paves the way for another one to be saved.
