My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tater Is a Big Goofball that Is Ready for Your Love

Black and tan, large, male German Shepherd Good with other dogs: Yes Good with cats: Unknown Good with children: Older preferred because of his size If you’re looking for a big lap dog that will make you laugh, you’ve found him. Tater is five years old and is as loveable and silly as they come. Tater does have seizures, but he’s been on medication for two months with his foster parents and hasn’t had one single seizure the whole time! So with regular medication, Tater should be a happy, healthy boy. His foster parents report that Tater loves everyone! He’s never met a stranger, so if you’re looking for a guard dog, Tater probably isn’t your guy. He gets along well with other dogs and is house trained and perfectly fine being left alone in the house. His biggest desire is love. He wants attention, and he likes to lean his full 92 pounds up against his human to let you know he needs pets. So older children might work best for this big guy. He also loves to play with toys. And Tater is a talker. If he needs your attention, he’ll let you know. His foster mom said he could use more work on his leash manners, but he does OK and is very smart, so he would be a quick learner. If you’re ready for a big, goofy lap dog, inquire about Tater! This fellow is a really happy-go-lucky kind of guy.
As always, if you are interested in a Saving Paws dog, you must fill out our online application to get the approval process started. We will only schedule meet and greets with an approved application. All staff members are volunteers and are not compensated for their time and expenses. Many juggle family and full-time careers while volunteering at Saving Paws. Please be patient, as sometimes it takes up to 5 days to process an application.
