Chuck's Story...
Meet Chuck!

Chuck is up for adoption again, and the fabulous families who have tried to adopt him have truly been a blessing to help us really understand what he needs❤️

He is a 7 year old neutered male pointer lab mix . He will need a home with a securely fenced yard, at least 6 ft, and would love children of any age and another dog to play with preferably a female and a dog close to his size.

Chuck has a strong prey drive so no cats please! He would keep you safe from rodents forever!!! He also is a great watch dog and will alert you in a respectful way.

He is great in a crate or kennel and in the car. He has good manners and is a fast learner--very eager to please if he knows what you want.

Chuck needs work on his leash manners and will need someone strong enough and willing to do that. He has started training with a Gentle Leader and is doing much better not pulling!

Most of all, Chuck is a very social boy and loves to just be with his people, whatever they are doing.

If you can provide the requirements stated above he will reward you with great cuddles, companionship, and laughs❤️he has a tender heart and a gentle soul!

If you can please fill out a statement of interest in our website, alternativehumanesociety.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chuck, a Bellingham German Shorthaired Pointer/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shorthaired Pointer/Labrador Retriever for sale in Bellingham, or seeking a German Shorthaired Pointer/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Bellingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shorthaired Pointer/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with German Shorthaired Pointer/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
