A Little Bit About Me

Imagine how you'd feel if the world you'd known for almost nine years was turned upside down. That's what happened to Teko. He was living in Ohio with his older human, but when she could no longer see to her or his needs, she moved to California to live with her daughter in a nearby senior community. But then there were issues with the landlord, so Teko ended up here. He's very confused!

Teko is a nice little fellow who would like to find another human companion who will be happy to have him home most of the time, balanced with a couple daily walks in the outside world. He is very affectionate and attentive with his people, hopping up on laps and following them everywhere. He's not really interested in meeting strange dogs (especially bigger ones), but he has a history of having dog friends. He just needs time and space to get to know them on his terms.

Teko attended one of our dog training classes here and he did very well! He's smart, and a quick learner. Mostly, though, he wants to be with his special human. Please ask our adoption staff to show you his previous guardian's questionnaire so you can learn more about him. An adoption consultation prior to adoption will also help you know if this little guy is the right one for you.

About North Bay Canine Rescue & Placement

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a group of people dedicated to rescuing dogs from crisis situations, some of which include euthanasia by animal shelters, neglect and other forms of abuse, or "free to a good home" ads, which result in dogs being bounced from one home to another, or being acquired by animal brokers ("bunchers") and sold to research laboratories where they are used for testing then discarded ("cruelty industries").

NBCR&P works primarily with 5 herding breeds, and herding breed mixes. On occasion, NBCR&P also rescues and places other breeds. We foster our dogs in a home environment, rather than a kennel, if at all possible. We take pride in our promise that at any time and for any reason in the dog's life, if the need arises, he or she has a safe place with us ("return to rescue" policy).
