He is a beauty. When the sunlight hits is red coat, it is like a kiss come to life. The dark copper, russett, flame, and golden honey colors in Ziggy's fur is amazingly beautiful. He is bigger than the typical Border Collie, weighing about 65 lbs, and there's a little bit of something else in him, which just makes him a very loveable and special fella.
Although he looks like an adult dog, Ziggy is still a youngster. His foster mom is teaching all those things that he needs to know to help him be the Fantastic Dog we know he has in him. And did we tell you that he loves people? He would love to sit your lap too, but since he's a little too big for that, he has to content himself by leaning against you with his head on your lap.
"I need you to pet me and tell me that you love me because I lost my home and couldn't find it. I sure you must be my new most favorite person."
When he's not on his best behavor, or encounters a new situation he hasn't mastered yet, he may forget his new training in his excitement, Ziggy might jump up and put his paws on your chest (his foster mom is working on this). It's a hard thing to remember because He has that joyful, young dog energy.
During the day, Ziggy is on a zip line for a couple of hours, where he can chews on his favorite deer ankler without getting himself into trouble. If his favorite people are available, he would love to play tug or he'll follow along where ever they go. Left on his own, Ziggy will bounce his tennis ball all by himself.
Ziggy is being fostered in a farm setting, where some rules are specific to that environment, such as, "don't chase the horses and don't eat the chickens." The horses, he understands--but the chickens . . . well, he likes then. They are delicious. They taste like chicken, and he doesn't understand why he can't eat them when the humans do, ya know.
