My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

GUNNER is a 2 year old neutered black male Lab who weighs 47 pounds. He is a sweet, timid boy. He does warm up quickly but needs to be given a little time to get used to routine and goings on. Gunner is not a huge fan of the crate (he does not like to go in but is good once coaxed in) but we are working on that a little more each day. He is good with all the dogs at his foster and likes to play. He is doing well with his house manners with no accidents. Gunner is playful and will chew blankets if bored. Gunner is a good rider. He pulls very hard on leash and we are working with an EZ Walk on that. He is good with other dogs. Gunner comes from the country (suburbs) and has no exposure to big cities. Placement is limited to single family stand-alone homes in a suburban neighborhood, or rural area No cat history but a bit too interested in the vet cats so no cats for him. No kid history so kids 10+. More info soon!!!.

Update: Gunner is so happy to be free of those pesky heart worms! He is having fun playing with all his friends at his foster but is SOOOO ready for his furever family to come meet him! Gunner is a sweet, playful, energetic guy. He needs exercise as he is a youngster still. He pulls on leash but does well with and EZ walk harness. He is house trained and crate trained. He does well with other dogs and especially loves the ladies!

Update: Gunner is finished with his Heart Worm Treatment and off of crate rest! He is enjoying being able to run and play with his foster buddies again and is ready for his forever family!! He would love an active family as he needs exercise daily. He is very sweet and loving too!

Update: Gunner has really blossomed at his foster! He loves playing with other dogs still and has really started to enjoy his crate. He was not fond of it at first but now goes in willingly and is quiet and content. He is very sweet and has really learned to enjoy human attention. He has discovered toys and loves to play with anything and everything now. Such a huge change from the shy, timid guy upon intake! Way to go Gunner!

Update: Gunner is really coming out of his shell and loves people. He enjoys playing with other dogs at his foster. He seems to prefer the females more - who can blame a guy? He likes to wrestle and play rough and tumble. He has come a long way with his crate training and now goes in with no problem and is quiet and good. He is house trained and has good manners. Not bad for a country boy! Gunner's foster thinks he would be OK in a townhouse or condo as long as he had a yard and got exercise.
