I'm Deacon! I'm an oldie â but goodieâ (possibly 8 years old)! â I have been at the shelter for a long time. I sure am ready to find my forever home. Because I've been here awhile the shelter staff knows I'm:
2. Love walks and responsive to the my leash walker.
3. Love treats! I mean, really, who doesn't??
4. Bond quickly to my person, but like my independence too!
I would love to live with a person and be part of a family. I dream about going out in a fenced yard. Because I am so curious and tall the shelter staff thinks I can jump a 4ft fence if something sparks my interest. A 6ft fence would be perfect! When taking me out they often uses a long line so I enjoy sniffing around! They think I've lived as an outside dog all my life so I may need a little help on inside living. I can't wait and look forward to learning all about it.
âI went home with a âfoster and had a small altercation with one of the family dogs. The family panicked and returned âme. It was a low growl and then a growl with lunge. Proper introductions are so important when introducing a new dog to your other pets. I think having a strong leader in the house would have resolved the issue quickly. I have not shown any aggression with any of my pals at the shelter.
I'm neutered, microchipped and am current on vaccines, including rabies. I am heartworm positive but have sponsors willing to help with heartworm treatment. Because of my age, the slow kill option may be the best. The shelter staff will discuss options with my adopter.
âI am very smart â and I am sure, I will quickly learn what is expected of me. I need daily exercise
â tooâ , a walk twice a day would be enjoyed. â I hope you liked âreading about me and really hope I can become part of your family. If you are interested in adopting me, please complete an online adoption application at scotlandhumane.org
. The shelter staff will contact you upon reciept of your application. Love, Deacon
