Zeus's Story...
Zeus came to us as an owner surrender due to a job change out of state that involved extensive travel. He is a miniature chocolate dapple dachshund with a smooth coat. Just slightly overweight at 13#s, he will need an owner that can take him for walks and portion control his food and treats. Care should be taken in exercising him, as he has experienced some back issues in his past--no jumping up or down off of furniture or stair climbing should be allowed. Short to medium walks are encouraged. He is a cuddle bunny and enjoys attention. .He however doesn't like being on his back and will growl at you. A tummy rub sets him straight. As a home visit is part of the adoption process, we can only adopt out in the greater Las Vegas area.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Zeus, a Las Vegas Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Las Vegas, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Las Vegas.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Las Vegas already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Las Vegas breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Las Vegas paves the way for another one to be saved.
