Holster's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, in need of an experienced adopter, and up to date with shots.

Holster's Story...
Holster is an 8 year old Miniature Dachshund who is looking for an extraordinary person. Holster came to us, after being rescued by authorities, from a serious domestic violence situation. He not only lost his home & family, but also has lost his trust. He is looking for a forever person to help him regain his trust in people. He has leash issues (we're working on them!) so a fenced in yard is a must. Low traffic, experienced dog home. Ok with other dogs. We have discovered that Holster just loves toys of all kinds, but he favorite this is to be held on someone's lap.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Holster, a Cumberland Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Cumberland, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Cumberland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cumberland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cumberland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cumberland paves the way for another one to be saved.
